Networking events at Synergy
Synergy offered plenty of options for socializing and expanding professional networks, from connecting with colleagues to meeting new people and sharing ideas with industry experts and thought leaders.
Attendees gathered with old friends and made new connections at the Welcome Reception, which took place at the end of the first full conference day in the Solutions Expo. It was an ideal venue for casual networking and discussing the Opening Keynote, Tuesday’s sessions and activities while visiting the exhibits and enjoying the evening’s hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Downtown Las Vegas was transformed into a food and music festival exclusively for Synergy attendees as the Final Night Party gave attendees a taste of the cooler, edgier side of Vegas that most conference attendees never experience. Everyone joined friends and new colleagues under the desert stars, and immersed themselves in the sights and sounds of classic Las Vegas for a night of dinner, drinks and fun with our exciting special guests, multiaward-winning alternative band Fall Out Boy!
Savvy conference-goers connected with the Synergy community even before they arrived in Las Vegas: the Event Connection tool made it easy for registered attendees to contact others and arrange face-to-face meetings. Synergy offered the flexibility to plan meetings in the Event Connection Lounge, a comfortable meeting space with a variety of seating options—including private rooms for up to six, four- to eight-person tables and lounge seating areas, with complimentary wireless connectivity—or schedule meetings outside of the Event Connection Lounge with other attendees. On-site scheduling through the Lounge hostess was also available.
Hosted by Laura Heisman, Citrix vice president, communications, the Diversity in Technology Networking Reception was designed to foster dialogue on important issues facing the technology industry, giving professionals a forum for networking, sharing ideas and gaining new insights. Small-group discussions, centered around a specific topic, were led by guest experts including Connie Barrera, Chief Information Security Officer, Jackson Health System; Maria Pardee, Vice President and GM, GIS Workplace and Service Management, CSC; and Sherif Seddik, Vice President and Managing Director EMEA, Citrix.
This special event, open to Citrix customers and partners, was followed by a reception featuring live music and the chance to network with professional attendees from many different organizations who share a commitment to diversity. It was a unique opportunity to share ideas and gain new insights from tech leaders who are key contributors to IT innovation.
First-timers at Synergy joined veteran conference attendees for the Newcomers Breakfast, receiving insider tips from Synergy alumni who have been attending for years. Alumni offered advice on which activities were not to be missed, based on their experience, along with guidance for setting up a conference agenda to maximize the benefits from Synergy.
