History of Synergy
Citrix Synergy has a proud, 15-year history as a global conference for IT professionals. This year, Synergy in Los Angeles, May 22-24, will focus on mobile workstyle solutions that can help people work better and live better.
Where it all began
Synergy was born in 1998 as Thinergy, billed as a thin-client/server technology conference on server-based computing architecture. Thinergy presented the concept of centralizing applications on servers and enabling users to view and work with them from any device. Thinergy was hailed as a seminal, landmark IT conference marking the birth of an industry.
After two years, Thinergy was renamed Citrix iForum, a series of region-specific events primarily targeting the Citrix ecosystem. By 2008, iForum had grown into Citrix Synergy, a global industry conference featuring many voices and views.
In 2013, Synergy continues to evolve while retaining its focus on “anyness” – the ability to access information, services and people from any device, network connection or location at any time. The theme of all 2013 Synergy events is mobile workstyles, encompassing cloud and mobile platforms, cloud networking, virtualization, social collaboration and data sharing. Today, Synergy remains true to its roots in Thinergy, serving as an inclusive, open forum for the latest ideas, trends, solutions and technologies.
