Drill down into Citrix technologies under expert supervision

 

Learning Labs are bigger and better than ever this year!

 

By popular demand, the free Hands-on Learning Labs program for Synergy 2010 has been expanded and enhanced. Now there are even more labs to bring you all the technical training you’re hungry for, including training on the latest releases of XenDesktop, XenApp, XenServer and NetScaler. These labs feature in-person instructors and hosted, virtual lab infrastructure, and now come in three flavors:

 

  • Introductory classes – These 90-minute sessions, with virtual labs powered by the SoftLayer cloud infrastructure, offer attendees the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a particular Citrix product or technology that they have not worked with before. They’re a great way to get a basic knowledge foundation in preparation for deep dive classes and workshops. Click here to view the list of Introductory classes.

  • Deep Dive classes – These three-hour sessions provide an in-depth learning experience focusing on specific aspects or features of the latest Citrix releases. They cover key technical aspects on design, implementation and integration of Citrix technologies.  Click here to view the list of Deep Dive classes.

 

  • Workshops – These sessions devote a full five hours to tailored training focused on a specific technical or business area in the desktop virtualization space.  Click here to view the list of Workshops.

 

Intro classes and Deep Dives are offered on Wednesday and Thursday, and Workshops are offered on Thursday and Friday and will take place at the San Francisco Marriott (55 Fourth Street, 2 blocks from the Moscone West Convention Center).This schedule will allow you to build your knowledge sequentially and acquire any prerequisites.

 

The Hands-on Learning Labs curriculum is tailored for administrators and architects responsible for managing or designing an IT environment that includes XenDesktop, XenServer, NetScaler or XenApp. Don’t miss these intensive, detailed labs.  They will help you get the most from your current environment and learn about the newest technologies.

 

Bring Your Own Laptop

 

The Hands-on Learning Labs are bring your own laptop (BYOL). Click here for Laptop Specifications and Browser Requirements for the specific laptop and browser specs so you can be ready to plug in and go once on site in San Francisco.

 

Enrollment is limited, so sign up now!

 

Hands-on Learning Labs have limited enrollment so that instructors can provide individual attention and assistance.

 

  • Introductory class attendance is on a first-come, first-serve basis on site at Synergy. Class capacity is 100. You are not required to pre-register for these classes.
  • Deep Dives and Workshops require pre-registration and are limited to 30 people. Once registered for Synergy you can sign up using the Build Your Schedule tool located in your My Synergy Account.

 

If any of the Deep Dive classes and Workshops reach attendance capacity, you can add it to your schedule as Waitlisted. If a seat becomes available, the system will automatically schedule the class based the order of the wait list. Check your personal schedule to confirm your status. Note that as of the Tuesday, May 11, 6 p.m. PT pre-registration deadline, we will be dissolving the wait list process.  This means that any open seats in each classroom will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis on site in San Francisco.

 

Please read the 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW regarding scheduling the Deep Dive classes and Workshops in order to secure your participation:

 

  1. The training sessions are Free for attendees! There is no additional charge for this class if you are a fully registered Synergy attendee.
  2. This training is plug in and go, so you are required to bring your own laptop and your power cord to participate in the hands-on training. Click here for system requirements. Internet connectivity and a power outlet will be provided in the classroom.
  3. To increase your chances of securing a seat in the class, it is mandatory that registered attendees pre-register by logging in to your My Synergy Event Account and, once logged in, using the Build Your Schedule tool add the class to your schedule by the deadline date of Tuesday, May 11, 6 p.m. PT.
  4. If you pre-register for a seat online, you must scan in to your designated classroom at least 15 minutes before class start to confirm your enrollment, or the seat will revert to Stand By, and it is then open to attendees waiting in line for any empty stand by seats.
  5. New this year, access to the classrooms is managed by scanning your badge.  There is no Hands-on Learning Labs registration desk for check-in or waitlisting.  If pre-registered, please go directly to your classroom to scan in to confirm your seat.  For those looking to fill any open, unconfirmed seats, go directly to the classroom of the specific lab you would like to attend and stand in line for any stand by seats. Open seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
